PVC column wraps, PermaSnap™ is the perfect DIY option for homeowners and remodelers. Weather and Insect proof, PermaSnap™ offers a low maintenance option with a quick and easy installation. No external fasteners are required. Use an adhesive purchased at a lumberyard or hardware store. PermaSnap™ is made from a 3/8" thick material and is packaged and shipped flat. Trim kits can be purchased separately to add an extra flair to your column. PermaSnap™ can also be used as a newel post wrap when cutting to the appropriate length. Post caps can be purchased to complete the newel.
Four pre-mitered panels, a
temporary tape on the corners and a patented snap-lock permits easy installation.
HBG recommends using a PVC fence adhesive, similar to Veranda, Freedom Clear or Christy’s Red Hot.

Caulk where required using Siroflex brand Sealant or similar and Adhesive provided by others. Putty any holes using acrylic putty or caulk.
Lightly sand or scuff surface of column. Clean surface with light detergent and water, denatured alcohol, or window cleaner. Remove soap residue with clean water.
Apply one coat of 100% acrylic exterior primer and one or more finish coats of 100% acrylic exterior paint.
Paint: Must be primed and painted (not in dark colors unless using a reflective paint, dark is L value of 56 to 0)
FAQ
HOW IS PermaSNAP™ INSTALLED? PermaSNAP™ is designed to wrap around a structural support, typically treated wood posts. The installer cuts to length, adds adhesive in the grooves and folds the material around the column until it snaps together. The temporary tape is removed after the adhesive has set, typically within 4-24 hours. Pre-mitered trim pieces and various moldings are available to complete the column.
WHAT ADHESIVE SHOULD BE USED? A PVC adhesive like those used to bond cellular PVC boards and sheets with a sufficient "open time" is recommended. This can be ordered from us , WNSA8, or found in better lumberyards
WILL PermaSNAP™ YELLOW? PermaSNAP™ is made from cellular PVC sheets that contain the same UV stabilizers used in PVC windows, siding and other PVC products proven to resist yellowing or fading. PermaSNAP™ should be painted after installation.
CAN PermaSNAP™ BE PAINTED? Yes. Sanding the surface and applying a primer is recommended before painting with a good quality acrylic latex paint for outdoor use.
